Re-opening Announcement from James Thomson

A Message from James Thomson

 Dear Guests and Friends,

Welcome back to The Witchery. I have been looking forward to saying that for months and now the moment approaches.

The long and colourful history of the Old Town of Edinburgh is such a comfort at a time like this. Our historic buildings at The Witchery date back to 1595 and have witnessed so much down the years, but always overcome every obstacle and challenge. Inspired by that, our doors will soon reopen, and we are all very excited at the prospect of having our first guests arriving on 15th July.

You have my personal assurance that everything has been done to ensure you can visit and stay with absolute confidence. Nothing matters more to me than the comfort and safety of our guests and staff.

Lockdown has given me the chance to reflect on the past 42 years since I first set foot in The Witchery, and to consider how best we adapt to the ‘new normal’. One thing I can assure you of is that we have been working hard to ensure that we can still offer a very memorable experience and we shall continue to strive to exceed your expectations.

We will be publishing a full list of measures which we will be putting in place once we have a clearer understanding of the Scottish Government’s guidelines and these will be available on our website. However, should you have any questions or concerns about your visit please feel free to contact me personally.

I am very grateful to you for your continued loyalty, custom and support and we are all very much looking forward to welcoming you back again soon.

With very best wishes,
